Callala Bay is a small town on the South Coast of New South Wales, Australia in the City of Shoalhaven. It is situated on the northern shore of Jervis Bay about 20 minutes drive from Nowra and 10 minutes from Culburra Beach. Callala Bay has an approximate elevation of 13 m above sea level. Callala Bay – Currarong & Surrounds is bounded by Worrigee Nature Reserve, Currambene State Forest, Saltwater Swamp Nature Reserve, the Crookhaven River, the locality of Culburra Beach and Lake Wollumboola in the north, the Tasman Sea in the east, Jervis Bay and Currambene Creek in the south and Western Road, the locality of Falls Creek, the Princes Highway, Warra Warra Road South and the locality of South Nowra in the west.
Callala Bay – Currarong & Surrounds includes the localities of Beecroft Peninsula, Callala Bay, Callala Beach, Comberton, Currarong, Kinghorne, Myola and Wollumboola.
In 2006, the population of the State Suburb of Callala Bay was 1,951.
Callala Bay Has a local Community Association who are not-for-profit community group and our objective is to promote the welfare, physical & intellectual advancement of the unique, pristine coastal township of Callala Bay NSW, to protect the interests of the residents and to encourage a keen spirit of citizenship and mutual support among residents & groups.
